DOW announces 50-gallon rain barrel grand prize drawing and food drive

LĪHUE – In honor of Earth Day 2025, the Department of Water (DOW) announces a rain barrel grand prize drawing in April. A rain barrel is a container that captures and stores rainwater from the roof. The collected rainwater is a valuable source for gardening. A total of three, 50-gallon rain barrels will be given away, to encourage water conservation outdoors and help customers save money.

Intermittent lane closure notices for Pu’uwai Road and Po’ohiwi Road t

KALĀHEO – The Department of Water (DOW) and its contractor, Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc. (HDCCI) announce intermittent lane closure notices for portions of Pu’uwai Road and Po’ohiwi Road, through April 30, 2025, weather permitting. The lane closures are necessary to continue work on replacements of water mainlines for the Kalāheo Water Systems Improvements Project.

Grant Awardees Announced

Today, Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Like announced the eight recipients of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Life’s Choices program Mental Health and Substance Abuse Community Program Grants for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. The total amount awarded is $1,000,000. Project funding will run from March 2025 through March 2026.
