1st Installment Due Date: August 20th

2nd Installment Due Date: February 20th

How can I make a payment?

  • Payments can be made online with a credit card or e-check at https://kauairpt.ehawaii.gov/propertytax/kauai/,
  • With a check and can be sent by mail, pay in person or drop it off at a drop box located outside the Kapule Building, at the
    Lihue Civic Center at 4444 Rice Street, Lihue, HI 96766
    Checks should be made payable to: DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
  • OR pay with cash at the Real Property Billing and Collections Section

Is there a discount for early payment?

No.

If you offer installments, is there a tax minimum to qualify for installments? Or is the installment offered no matter how much the bill is?

No.

Do you accept postmark as timely payment?

Yes.

If the due date falls on a Saturday or Sunday does the due date roll to the following business day as timely payment?

Yes.

What is the Penalty Percent and Interest for late payment?

Penalty: One time penalty assessed at 10%

Interest: Interest assessed at 1% per month

Is the bill required to be paid if the property is under protest/value being appealed with assessor? If so, what percentage of the bill should be paid?

Yes. The full amount of Taxes must be paid on or before the due date(s).

If not, Penalty and Interest rates will apply.

Do you accept electronic payments made by taxpayer (online payments by credit card, etc.)?

Yes, You may pay your Real Property Taxes via Credit Card or ACH by visiting our website at https://kauairpt.ehawaii.gov/propertytax/kauai (Administrative Fees will apply)
