RENTAL AND UTILITIES ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

LĪHU‘E – The County of Kaua‘i’s 2021 Coronavirus Rental and Utility Assistance Program, administered by Kaua‘i Federal Credit Union (Kauai FCU), are still accepting online applications at www.KauaiRentHelp.com/home. Phone number (808) 482-3777.

Households that have been impacted, directly or indirectly, by the COVID-19 pandemic and are past due on their rent and/or utilities are encouraged to apply for the program.

LANDLORD-TENANT EVICTION MEDIATION PROGRAM

Free help on Kauai for Landlords and Tenants following the end of the state eviction moratorium. Kaua’i County Housing Agency has partnered with Kaua’i Economic Opportunity (KEO) to provide mediation assistance for Kaua’i residents facing eviction.

LANDLORDS

If your tenant lives in Kaua‘i County, you must at the same time provide the 15-day notice (to evict for non-payment of rent) to KEO via email at: evictionmediation@keoinc.org. For more information go to:  KauaiEvictionMediation.org or call (808) 245-6000.

 

TENANTS

If you receive a notice from your landlord regarding eviction and you live in Kaua‘i County, contact KEO as soon as possible by phone at (808) 245-6000 or complete a tenant intake form online at KauaiEvictionMediation.org.

 

HOMEOWNER ASSISTANCE FUND

If you live in your home on Hawai‘i island or Kaua‘i and are experiencing financial hardship, you may be eligible for up to $30,000 in grant funds to pay your past due mortgage or reduce your monthly mortgage payment.
