Community Events

Community Events Requests

The Department of Parks & Recreation (DOPR) provides quality recreational and leisure time experiences for residents and visitors of the County of Kaua‘i.  DOPR hosts a wide variety of events throughout all our park and recreational facilities, including sporting events, festivals, political fundraisers, fundraising activities, and events held by non-profit organizations. New and returning events are welcome.

A Community Event application should be submitted for any use of parks or parks facilities that includes inviting the general public. This category includes, but is not limited to:

  • Festivals,
  • Fun Runs, and
  • Town Celebrations.

Staff will review various factors and work with applicants to properly plan a successful event.

Fees and deposits may be required according to the Kaua‘i County Code and DOPR Administrative Rules. Costs are dependent on the applicant type (individual, non-profit, business, government) and use (charging admission). Costs and payment deadlines will be clarified with applicants before finalizing permit.

Additional requirements may be placed on requests to ensure a successful event. This may include permittees providing additional porta-potties or trash bins. Applicants will be made aware of these requirements before finalizing permit.

Please review all materials regarding the permit process, including rules and regulations that are important to hold a successful event.

Permit applications are accepted through the link below.

Our staff looks forward to working with you on creating a successful event with experiences and memories to last a lifetime!
