First, I would like to state that I fully support the original intent of the County Council’s bill signed into law in March 2008, which prohibited any new transient vacation rentals (TVRs) outside of our visitor designation areas (VDAs). I believe this action was necessary and probably long overdue. That being said, implementing that law has had legal challenges, and I applaud the passage of Bill No. 2364, as it will allow us to ensure that those entities affected by the original bill have the ability to apply for a permit.
