The County of Kauai, in partnership with the Kauai District Health Office, is now providing free COVID-19 testing for anyone without symptoms. Testing is available Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the War Memorial Convention Hall. No appointment or doctor's order is necessary and results can be provided on the same day.
The opportunity to test is open to everyone, residents and visitors alike.
If you are planning to visit an elderly family member, you can get tested in the morning and get results that afternoon. Visitor industry workers or others exposed to travelers are encouraged to receive a test.
Please note that free COVID-19 tests provided by the County of Kauai cannot be used with the State of Hawaii's Safe Travels program for travel to and exemption from quarantine in Maui County or Hawaii County. If you are traveling to Maui County or Hawaii County, you must get a pre-travel test from a State of Hawaii Trusted Testing Partner lab to be eligible for a state-approved quarantine exemption.
However, free COVID-19 tests provided by the County of Kauai can be used by participants in Kauai's Enhanced Movement Quarantine (EMQ) “resort bubble” program as a post-travel test needed to be released from quarantine. For more information on the EMQ “resort bubble” program, please visit https://www.kauai.gov/COVID-19 and click on the “Enhanced Movement Quarantine” button. Travelers currently in a resort bubble should refer to their resort property for more information and transportation options.
All incoming travelers to Kauai are currently subject to a 10-day mandatory quarantine. The quarantine includes visitors AND residents flying from the mainland and interisland. Pursuant to Governor Ige’s 17th Emergency Proclamation, the travel quarantine was reduced to 10 days, effective December 17th, 2020.
