KPD responds to disorderly complaint at Līhu‘e Airport

LĪHUʻE – Officers with the Kaua‘i Police Department (KPD) responded to a disorderly complaint at Līhu‘e Airport early Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., KPD officers arrived at Līhu‘e Airport in response to a request for assistance from Airport Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) regarding a disorderly male subject. Upon arrival, KPD officers observed a male subject who was being detained by two Airport LEOs and an airline employee. KPD officers found that the male subject was in need of immediate medical attention and began administering CPR, along with a dose of Naloxone (Narcan). Emergency medical personnel arrived and continued advanced resuscitation efforts while transporting the male subject to Wilcox Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The male subject has been identified as Harley Morris, a 53-year-old man with no known address. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.

The incident remains under investigation.
