HĀ‘ENA – A visitor died Friday afternoon after being pulled from waters off Hā‘ena Beach Park.
On Friday, Jun. 21, at approximately 4:30 p.m., first responders were dispatched to Hā‘ena Beach Park for an unresponsive swimmer. A lifeguard with the Ocean Safety Bureau brought the victim to shore and administered CPR until medics arrived and took over advanced resuscitation efforts. The victim was transported to the Wilcox Memorial Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as a visitor from Colorado.
An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.
