Water service shutdown on a portion of Menehune Road on December 12

Department of Water Service Annoucement

WAIMEA – The Department of Water (DOW) announces a water service shutdown scheduled on a portion of Menehune Road; from, and including, Menehune Place to the end of Menehune Road. This also includes Kalo Road and Gay Road.  Water service will be shut off on Thursday, Dec. 12 from approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, while a new service lateral is installed.

To prepare for the service shutdown, customers are advised to take the following steps:

  • Store water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
  • Notify neighbors, family and friends about the water service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heater does not empty during the shutdown.

Door notices will be delivered to customers in the affected areas.
