Records Section
Police Reports
Most information are releasable to individuals when certain conditions are met in accordance to the Uniform Information Practices Act (UIPA) of the Hawaii Revised Statues (HRS) chapter 92F. Report requests will be reviewed, please allow 48 hours for a response due to confidentiality. The Records Sections is closed on weekends and State/Federal Holidays. Generally, most police reports are releasable once all investigative processes have been completed and the case has been closed. Records Section and Firearms window hours are as follows.
Records Section services are available Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Firearm registration services are available Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
If payment if required, payment can be made at the Records Window by check or credit card (Payments related to firearms are to be done by check).
Redacted Police Reports
To prevent unwarranted invasion of personal privacy in accordance with the UIPA of the HRS Chapter 92F-13, all report copies released to individuals will have personal information such as names, home addresses, social security numbers, date of birth and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
Public Police Report Requests
To request a copy of a public police report by submitting an online request Records Request for Non-Businesses. Once your report is ready for pickup, a staff member will schedule an appointment for pickup.
To obtain a copy of a report, you must provide the following information:
- Full Name, mailing address, phone number
- Police Report Number
- Type of Report
- Date of Incident
- Copy of Driver's License or State Identification
Business Police Report Requests
To request a copy of a report by submitting an online request Records Request for Businesses. Once your report is ready for pickup, a staff member will schedule an appointment for pickup.
To obtain a copy of a report, you must provide the following information:
- Include on your business letterhead and include authorization from the subject involved
- Full Name, mailing address, phone number
- Police Report Number
- Type of Report
- Date of Incident

Public Fingerprinting
All public fingerprinting services are by appointment only. Please call 808-241-1929 to schedule an appointment.
Public Access Printout
For all criminal clearance reports or criminal background checks, please visit the Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center to obtain a copy. This shall only be available online through the Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center.
Legal Service Documents, Subpoenas and Restraining Orders
Legal service documents, subpoenas and restraining orders can be processed at the walk-up window during normal business hours.
Sex Offender Registration
Sex offender registration can conducted at the walk-up window during normal business hours.
Abandoned Vehicle Tow Payments
Abandoned vehicle tow payments can also be made at the walk-up window during normal business hours or payments may be left in the drop box located adjacent to the window.
Return of Evidence Property
Returning of evidence to owner(s) is also by appointment only. Please call 241-1655 to make an appointment.
