The County of Kauai's Recycling office held their annual Recycling Education booth at the Kauai County Fair in August 2019.
Due to staffing concerns the Recycling Office requested volunteer assistance to help man the booth. Several very special volunteers stepped up. Mr. Jannik Evanoff, age 11, Miss Alina Evanoff, age 9 and Mr. Nicklas Evanoff, age 8 assisted Recycling staff over the weekend. The booth was very popular with the public and the children were vital to this success.
The County of Kauai's recycling office is incredibly grateful for the Evanoff family's enthusiasm and contributions towards a successful weekend for the booth. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities with the County's Recycling Office, please contact Keola Aki, Acting Solid Waste Programs Coordinator, at 241-4195 or kaki@kauai.gov.
Residents were given recycling questions in order to earn a turn on the pinball game and win one of numerous prizes made out of 100% recycled materials. Prizes included Frisbees, flyswatters, pens, keychains, lanyards, reusable bags and recycled glass art pieces.
