LIHUE – The Department of Water (DOW), County of Kaua’i announces the availability of the annual 2024 Water Quality Report, also known as a Customer Confidence Report (CCR).  The report covers the period of January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023.

The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that water systems nationwide provide customers with an annual report describing the quality of their local drinking water by July 1st of every year.  DOW’s annual water quality report includes details such as the source of the water (e.g. groundwater, surface water, or a combination), contaminants found in the water, if any, and the source of these detected contaminants.

DOW’s water systems are tested regularly through the State Department of Health and DOW’s certified laboratory.  All chemical testing performed strictly complies with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Hawaii State standards for safe drinking water.   DOW’s drinking water meets all the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) guidelines for safe drinking water and any contaminants found were well below the levels allowed by the EPA.
