Hanalei RTS green waste, metals recycling to be closed next weeked

HANALEI – The Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division announced that the Hanalei Refuse Transfer Station’s green waste and metal recycling service will be closed next weekend due to scheduled repair work. All other services will be available. 

Closures will occur on the following dates:

  • Metals recycling will be closed from Friday, Oct. 4, through Sunday, Oct. 6; and
  • Green waste will be closed on Sunday, Oct. 6.

Regular services are expected to return on Monday, Oct. 7.

The Hanalei refuse transfer station’s daily operating hours are from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The transfer station is closed on state holidays.

Customers are advised to use the Kapa‘a refuse transfer station green waste during the closure periods.
