KPD seeks public’s help identifying body found near Nāwiliwili Harbor

LĪHUʻE – The Kauaʻi Police Department (KPD) is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a body that was found Thursday morning near Nāwiliwili Harbor, in an area known as Carter’s Point.

On Thursday, Jul. 18, officers responded to a report of human remains discovered in an area known as Carter’s Point near Nāwiliwili Harbor. Personnel from the Kauaʻi Fire Department aided in retrieving the body, which was subsequently transported to the Wilcox Medical Center.

The decedent’s identity is unknown due to the advanced stage of decomposition. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
