Road closures for 45th Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk

LĪHUʻE – The 45^th Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk is scheduled for this Saturday, May 4^th, from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

To accommodate the event, the Kaua‘i Police Department will close off all roads along the walk route from 7 a.m. until the conclusion of the event at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Road closures will include:

• Hoʻolako Street (from Vidihna Stadium to Rice Street)
• Rice Street (from Hoʻolako Street to Umi Street)
• Umi Street
• Ninini Point Road

Ahukini Road and the Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Highway will not be closed. However, walk participants will utilize the road shoulder to complete the walk and drivers are urged to remain cautious, vigilant and aware of their surroundings. 

Motorists should also allow additional time to get to their destinations as traffic delays are expected. Officers will be monitoring all road closures.

During the road closure the Kaua‘i Bus, Route 70-Līhu‘e Shuttle will not be able to access stops on the Charity Walk route along Rice Street. Riders are advised to utilize the shelter on Eiwa Street during the closure.
