The County of Kauaʻi Housing Agency is hosting a series of meetings from May 21 to 25, for various sectors of the community as the agency begins to develop a Five Year Homelessness Strategic Plan for Kaua‘i.

The meetings have been categorized into four separate focus groups to allow more specific and efficient discussions. The four focus groups are for individuals who have experienced houselessness, neighborhood community members, social service providers, and Kaua‘i business leaders.

All participants are encouraged to come to the meetings with their concerns, strategies, and suggestions. Participants will meet with the County’s contractor, OrgCode Consulting, Inc., to assist in developing the Kaua‘i County Five Year Homelessness Strategic Plan. The plan involves engaging the community, homeless service providers, and people experiencing homelessness in surveys, focus groups, interviews, and listening sessions.

The information gathered from these meetings will inform the development of a needs assessment and draft strategic plan that will be shared with the community for additional feedback later in the summer.
