LĪHUʻE – Police are investigating an unattended death near Wailua Beach.
On Sunday, Sept. 29, at approximately 5:15 a.m., first responders were dispatched to Wailua Beach following reports of an unresponsive swimmer. The victim was observed to be unresponsive in the water and brought to shore by fishermen.
The victim has been identified as a female visitor from Washington.
This incident remains under investigation. An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.
