5:30 P.M. Update - Water conservation notice lifted in Haena

HAENA – The Department of Water (DOW) has lifted the water conservation notice for Powerhouse Road customers as of approximately 5:30p.m. this afternoon.  Customers may now resume normal water use.

---

HAENA – The Department of Water (DOW) has issued an immediate water conservation request for Powerhouse Road until further notice, due to a break in the mainline. Customers are advised to limit water use to essential needs only, such as drinking, cooking and sanitation purposes, in order to avoid a full water service outage.

Additionally, water service is being turned off to Anahulu Road, Ananalu Road and a portion of Kuhio Highway for approximately 2 hours in order to conduct the emergency mainline repairs.

Water conservation measures include turning off plumbing fixtures and appliances that automatically draw water such as ice machines and irrigation systems, refraining from car washing and using water wisely indoors and outdoors.

An update will be posted to the DOW’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/KauaiDOW and sent via Kauai County Alerts, when the conservation notice is lifted.
