KOLOA - The Department of Water (DOW) reminds customers located in Omao and Koloa to continue water conservation efforts until further notice.  Customers are advised to limit water use to essential needs only, such as cooking, drinking and sanitation needs.

Critical infrastructure and installation work is underway at the pump station facility, which was recently taken offline due to a mechanical failure.  DOW and its contractors are progressing through the complexity of the replacement and repairs, however, there is no timeline for facility restoration at this time.

Efforts to minimize water demand on the system have proven successful and water services remain available to all customers during the essential repairs. DOW thanks Omao and Koloa customers for their continued conservation efforts and cooperation.

Weekly notices are being provided via Kauai County Alerts (by phone, text or email) to the service area and posted on DOW's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/KauaiDOW.  To sign-up to receive Kauai County Alerts, please visit www.kauai.gov/kema.
